Japan June Salmon Imports: Chilean Coho Standing Out Stronger, Sockeyes Losing Competition
According to the June customs statistics released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, the mainstay Chilean coho salmon continued to arrive smoothly. Still, imports of salmon and trout fell below last year. Frozen fillets and sockeye salmon decreased significantly, and only fresh fillets by air increased. The import volume in H1 was 140,000 tons, the same level as the same period of the previous year, reports Suisan Keizai.
